New York Museum, Exhibits 9-11-01

Today I arrived in Albany, New York.....the state capitol. When I have a trip in a city that I haven't been to before I usually ask at the hotel if there are any sites to see or nice places to walk. This time I was directed to the New York Museum. I almost didn't go into it once I found it because I was getting quite cold and I had some work I needed to do back at the hotel..........I'm so glad I didn't pass this opportunity up! When I first went in I found it to be interesting, especially the early years of New York. Much to my surprise as I rounded a corner there was a section dedicated to 9-11. It was a very sobering experience, one I'm glad I had the opportunity to see.

This was fire engine #6. Half burnt and very mutilated. Four of the firefighters that drove this engine were killed in the disaster.

I was amazed to see the ice chest still in place.

I thought these tires were amazing! If you'll look at some of the previous pictures you'll notice that the back tires were OK. Look how it was torn off.

This is the front end of engine #6.

This was one of their hats, found in the ruble........

the same hat.

These are the four firemen that perished from engine #6.

It brought tears to your eyes.

A stretcher

A fireman's umbrella and oxygen tank.
A police officers shirt and two badges.
The badges were still full of soot.

The door to a Police car.

Some souvenirs that were found

A Boeing 767 seat belt

A piece of the airplane wing

Boeing 767 Landing Gear.

Today was a very sobering reminder of a very sad time in our Nation.

35 Years & I Love You Even More!

Happy Anniversary Loren, it's hard to believe 35 years have gone by! Thank-you for choosing me to be your wife, and staying committed to me through the ups and downs life has brought our way! Yes, it is good that we didn't know what was in store for us when we stood at the alter and committed the rest of our lives to each other. It's the journey that strengthens the LOVE! The journey cannot be foretold or it would change the outcome. I'm so thankful that we married young and the only thing we understood was that it was a commitment we would not break until God chose to take one of us home. We both know that what we have can never be taken for granted..........our lives have been blessed by a love that only the two of us will share!

Happy Anniversary to the LOVE of my Life!
I can't wait to be home on Friday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOREN

Don't worry dear, no one's peeking!

Always your happiest moments.........hunting, fishing, camping or just kicking the rocks on a hiking trail!

The early years, when we first met!

It wasn't long before you would share your birthday celebration. Matt missed your birthday by 7 hrs. He was always his daddy's shadow when he was a toddler. I remember taking this picture as if it were yesterday. We had just gotten home from church and we were celebrating Matt's 1st birthday, the day after Loren's. Matt started walking on that day!

Celebrating Loren's Birthday in Portland, Oregon!

Making lemons out of lemonade.............I wasn't able to be home on Loren's birthday, so I gave him the best gift I could.........he flew into Portland, Oregon yesterday afternoon (free) where I was staying on an overnight while on a 3-day trip. The night before I had overnight ed in Manchester, New Hampshire. We had a wonderful dinner and a relaxing night in a great hotel! Loren got up with me this morning and was able to fly on MY plane to Sacramento where he headed off to work and I continued on to Ontario, Calif. How cool!

Yes, we do look tired..............we had to get up @ 3:00 am to get ready and meet my crew in the lobby so we could head to the airport. Loren was able to ride our crew vans and live the life of a flight attendant for a short time. What a sport!!!

Loren said it was one of his favorite birthday's.............getting to watch the sunrise from the sky!
Loren took these pictures...........the glass window wasn't very clear so they didn't turn out too well...............you could see what a view he had though! I'm not sure what mountain this is, but he was able to name them all! Wish he was with me on more of my flights! Look at the beautiful sunrise in the background.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOREN! I LOVE YOU!
