Sum Sum Summertime Comes to a Close ! Here Are Some Summer Highlights

These pictures were taken the evening that we did our family photo shoot with the wedding photographer. It was so nice having everyone together!! I'll cherish these memories until we're together again!Auntie Katelynne and Mya

Papa, Claire and Zeke enjoy the swing.

Auntie Kate playing cards with Keagan
Ashlie & Matt entertained us with dessert, shortly after they got married.
The Newlyweds in front of their new home, they are renting from Joe & Sarah.
Katelynne helped direct the summer drama production of Mulan and Cody assisted as well as had a part in the cast. The grandkids came to the matinee to watch!
The BIG project of the summer was to re-arrange rooms now that we have an extra bedroom. We turned the spare room into a brightly painted play room, filled with alot of the toys that the kids had while they were growing up. The grandkids are quite fascinated with some of the stuff like records and record player, cassette tapes and games like twister, original cabbage patch dolls, weebles and the list goes on.......! I'm so glad that I saved the old toys!
Keagan and Hailey were old enough to come over and help.
Papa put up shelves for us to store everything on.
Keagan even tested it out to see if it was strong enough!
Hailey helped organize!
Auntie Kate helped Keagan pull his front tooth!
A toothless grin!
Watching a movie in 3-D.........way cool!

Everything looks cool in 3-D!
Bethany and Landon help Papa pick his prized tomatoes!
Playing in the play room! They love it!
Bethany and Landon spent the night together, the trampoline is always a favorite!
Landon thought it was pretty cool when he jumped high and picked one of the leaves on Nana's sunflower's.

Auntie Kate is always good for a bedtime storey!
Claire Bear (as we have nick named her) is always got a smile!
Speaking of smiles...............Nana had so much fun watching Zeke when she went to babysit him in Ohio!
You got to love that face!!
Nana & Zeke reading a story.

Zeke loved to crawl but hated using his knees! Ouch!!

Another story after bath time

Papa introduced Landon to the bow and arrow......

now he has two hunting partners, Keagan and Landon!

Landon gave it all that he had...............

and them some!!

Cody has been writing his own book for the past year.........look at how thick it is!! It is single page and double spaced for better editing.............he hopes to complete it and have it published. It really is a pretty good reading. It is fiction based on one of our exploring hikes we took at the cabin last summer. Cody hopes to be a writer for a occupation some day.

Life is never easy when your the younger brother of two older sisters. Cody needed a trimming so.........they took care of it!

He was a good sport and saved us a few bucks!
Summer is coming to a close and now it's time for school to start. One of the great things about Nana working at Faith Christian School has been that she gets to see the grandkids alot. This was taken on the first day of school.

How many 2nd graders had a Bible setting on their desk on the first day of school?
Hailey, your growing up tooo fast!

A sad goodbye as Katie and her best friend since Kindergarten will be going to college, one in New York and the other close to Santa Cruz. You girls have been so much fun and a joy to have around, we're going to miss you tons! Strawberry shortcake come see us often, even while Katelynne is away............we're going to miss you!!

WOW! What a summer! Makes me a little sad when I look at all the pictures. So many changes just in the last few months! You're right, those moments when we're all together are priceless.

Casey's right, the whole thing at once made me tear up a little bit, it's gone by so quickly and so much has changed! The memories are worth it all though..

Kathy & Loren,
After all these months I've finally signed up for google/blogger so that I can comment. I've peeked in often to see how your family is doing and especially at Ashlie & Matt's wedding photo's, which were all beautiful, by the way. I would love to have the pasta salad recipe from the wedding, it was delicious. Good luck to you Kathy as you set out for training and best of luck to Kate as she sets off for college.
