Trick or Treat With The Grandkids

Ashlie & Matt had Hailey, Keagan and Bethany for the weekend on Holloween. They brought them by they house and we caught up with Landon and Claire and everyone went trick or treating together. Yes, we heard several times how unfair it was that we didn't let our own kids go "trick or treating" and here we were going with the grandkids.............so life isn't fair, grandkids are different!

Who could tell "him" no?

Keagan you ring, I'll get the loot, worked every time!

On The Road.......

I have been flying with my "co-heart" this week, Tue-Wed-Thur. Her name is Wendy and she has been a great help! Last night we stayed on the watefront at the Hyatt in Jacksonville Florida. The hotels that Southwest puts us up in are amazing!! Here are a few pictures of the Hyatt. Each Flight Attendant has their own room, I feel like a little girl in a Big bed @ night!

What a life!! Just wish my high school sweatheart was here with me!

HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY SARAH !

It was great talking to you! Hope the rest of your day was great! I love you !

Baltimore, My Home Away From Home!

This is my "crash pad", it's absolutly perfect!
My living space is much like a college dorm, this is my bed.
There is nothing like the sound of Church bells! They ring every hour.....so comforting to the soul! I had to go find the church, it was only a few blocks from my house!

One of the house's I saw on my walk today. It was cold and raining, I'll get more soon!

It's A Dream Come True!

Wow, what a journey this has been. I don't know how to express my sincere "thanks" and appreciation to all of you for your support and prayers during this amazing time in my life! I graduated from Southwest Inflight Training on Friday, October 18th. I have never before felt God's guiding hand so strongly in my life. To know that so many people were praying for me was amazing! I have truly been humbled & blessed! Here are a few pictures taken during the past 4 weeks. Hope you enjoy!

As many of you already know, I would have not even been able to get my resume into Southwest Airlines if it weren't for an amazing friend and mentor in my life, Sandy McClendon! I had the privilege of having her pin my wings during my graduation ceremony, a moment I will never forget! Thank you Sandy!
It was another wonderful moment when Loren and Cody flew to Texas with Sandy to be at my graduation, also she was able to help guide them through the "art of flying standby"!

One of my instructor's in the middle, with my friend Sharon.

A friend I met on the first day at the Dallas airport. Victorija, is from Lithauanium and she has stolen my heart! I love seeing her love and appreciation for America!

This was my study group, a great fit for me since two of them were teachers! Other than the gentlemen, I'm the baby of the group.........two are 59 & one is 60 years old!

The girl on the left is Rose, she ran out of all of her "lifeline's" by Friday of the first week. The class loved her beautiful spirit.........everyone made it a point to see that she graduated! Everynight someone would study with her to make sure she would pass, and she did!

This is Carlotta, my roomate.

The gentlemen on the left was an instructor, we didn't know until the last week that we had been labeled the "girls" by the instructors, because we were always up front.

We are pointing to our new home base, Baltimore. The girl on her knees in the white shirt is from Buffalo, New York where Matt & Jaime live!

This is called the "Dallas" room, it was our main meeting room. We spent many hours sitting with straight backs, feet flat (and doing everything to stay awake!)

Learning a how to use life jackets.

Pretending to be flight attendents the first week of class!

The three of us are all from the Sacramento area, we interviewed together and were the only ones that made it to training out of the group interview. The middle girl, Patty was sent home on the last Monday before graduation.

Inside the Cockpit, now called the "Flight Deck"

Once again, a Big "Thank You" for all of your prayers and support! It was an amazing journey!

Two Amazing Weeks!!

I have a few minutes and the hotel computer is free so, I thought I'd give a quick up-date on this amazing journey God has allowed me to have. I first and foremost want to let everyone know that I have felt the prayers! Daily as I would sit down at the computer to take my 50 question test in 30 minutes, I would pray that God would bless my efforts of studying and allow my mind to focus.................without fail, I would start out overwhelmed feeling like this was going to be the test that I was going to fail! God's spirit would prompt me to remember, that I had so many people praying for me at home and he said, "if two or more would gather, he would be in the midst of them" the sense of peace would just carry me through the test. On a couple of the test, (the Boeing 737 in particular) I would thank God every time I was able to answer a question! (I got a 98%) can you believe that!!!!! Please continue to pray, I'm only half way through! This next week will be on medical aid, CPR and such. I expect this to be another challenge. We receive our uniforms this Thursday and will start wearing them everyday, what a privilege! On October 14th & 15th I will be doing my first fly. I will leave Dallas and fly to Houston, then to Denver where I will spend the night. I will leave @ 8:15 am from Denver, to Albq. New Mexico, Houston and back to Dallas!! Yes, I get to wear a big badge that will say that I am a Trainee, pray for me during that time! I cannot close without thanking my family and especially my Husband for all of the support and encouraging phone messages and text messages. Loren you ARE the best!! I love you and can't wait to be home! P.S. most of you have probibly already heard that I will be based in Baltimore, Maryland. (BWI airport) I cannot be transferred for 30 days, pray that I can be transfered to Oakland at that time! Gotta go, time for my drug test! Love to all, see you soon! Keep praying, please!
A grateful heart and much Love!!!
